Andy Jones - An Evening With Uncle Val

From St. John's • At The Martha Cohen Theatre

Andy JonesQueen Elizabeth, the Beatles and a werewolf walk into a pub...

Uncle Val, a 70 year-old retired fisherman, is trapped in ‘big-city’ St. John’s, inching through retirement as a babysitter for his spoiled-rotten rhyming grandchildren, Jimmy and Kimmy. His memories of magical times-gone-by keep him warm through the dangers of Maritimes winter – or, as he calls it, ‘The Seniors’ Olympics.’ But is there any room for an old sailor in the suburbs?

Andy Jones, a longtime Rodeo favourite, returns with his trademark crinkly-smiled hilarity, weaving a twisted double-narrative between an indignant old-timer and the impish actor who plays him.

“One of Canada’s great comedic actors, Jones is not to be missed!”
