High Performance Rodeo, The City of Calgary and Downtown Calgary present

+15 Chinatown Art Parade

Help us celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Calgary Chinatown, the Chinese New Year and the 25th annual High Performance Rodeo!

Calgary Chinatown was founded in 1910 and, for the past year, the City has been celebrating its centenary with dozens of community events. Now, as we prepare to welcome the Year of the Rabbit on February 3rd, the High Performance Rodeo will help conclude the anniversary celebration with the +15 Chinatown Art Parade!

Calgary's Plus 15 system is over 16 kilometres long, a welcome haven to thousands of Calgarians during the cold months of winter. On Friday, January 21st, their rush hour commute will feature a colourful surprise as dozens of costumed performers parade through the hallways from Sun Life Plaza to the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts!

The parade will feature yo-yo performers, lion & dragon dancers, Chinese lanterns, a fortune cookie piñata, Year of the Rabbit mascots, traditional Chinese costumes and much more, led by our special Parade Marshal, His Worship Naheed Nenshi, Mayor of Calgary.

This one-of-a-kind event will travel through the Plus 15 system from 4:00-5:00 pm, starting at Sun Life Plaza (144 4th Ave SW, Central Court) and concluding at Midway's Pacific Rim Mash-Up Dance Party. Join us in celebrating 100 years of Calgary Chinatown!
