#boxtape

L'Equipe Boxtape

A stickey situation...A social investitagation...Architecture as performace...Getting caught....Collaborative authorship.

Using a sh** load of clear packing tape and a shared sense of labour, hospitatlity and dance - we invite the public to join as we build and dance a sculpture with tape that bunds together the social fabric of the performance environment.

#boxtape is an event that lies between performance and sculpture.  It bridges dance and visual art (sculpture in particular) to play at the fringes of perfmance art.  #boxtape is a kind of a Stigmergy, the principle of which is that the trace left in the environment by an action stimulates the performance of a next action, by the same or a different agent. In that way, subsequent actions tend to reinforce and buld on each other, leading to the spontaneous emergence of coherent, appearently systematic activity - box tape.

"...the show was amazing! I really loved it. Such a pure & simple idea, & interactive in all the ways I love while shunning all the ways that bore me or make me feel old...A zillion congrats!"
