Moon, Moon, No Moon
One Yellow Rabbit
A Musical Cabaret
A series of theatrical songs that examine man's relationship to the moon through time, from the earliest people who hunted the mammoth by its light and built stone megaliths to honour the sky gods, to our race to walk its surface for the first time. The beautiful melodies created by long-time collaborators Blake Brooker and David Rhymer and presented in a high energy cabaret, covering everything from Buzz Aldrin selling cars after leaving the space program, to Laika, the first dog in space, to werewolves and eclipses.
Act II features songs from past One Yellow Rabbit hit shows such as Mata Hari, Ilsa, Queen of the Nazi Love Camp, and Dream Machine.
A meditation on the moon’s significance to humans, Moon, Moon, No Moon cabaret will look at humankind’s millennia-long relationship with the moon — from embodiment as a god or goddess, to the way we mark time for ritual and agricultural purposes, through to use for propaganda during the cold war.
