In collaboration with One Yellow Rabbit, for his final, 20th season as Artistic Director of the Alberta Ballet, internationally acclaimed dancemaker Jean Grand-Maître created a special, one night only, highly personal and intimate au revoir to the world of dance after 40 years of staging modern ballet.
Set to several masterpieces composed by Ravel, Debussy and Liszt, The Memory Room will be a meditation on 30 years of choreography and how dance transformed his understanding of the human experience.
An evening of powerful classical piano music and breathtaking ballet, in an up close and intimate space, performed live by Calgary prodigy Kevin Chen alongside Alberta Ballet’s principal dancers Mariko Kondo and Kelley McKinlay, set to a background designed by artist Chris Cran.
