Mine

Jan. 19 - Jan. 22 2023

Gaming and theatre collide in this inspiring digital exploration of parents and children, through the lens of Minecraft.

Duration

85 minutes

Venue

Martha Cohen Theatre, Arts Commons

Using Minecraft, the wildly popular, best-selling video game of all time; gamers and performers from 11 years old to 46 enact parent-child narratives from pop culture and personal experiences, live on stage.  Follow the journey from Grendel and Beowulf, through the woods with Bambi, to a mother-son prophecy filled with time travel and cyborgs, reminiscent of Sarah Connor and her son in The Terminator.

Inspired by the real-life relationship between Theatre Replacement’s Co-Artistic Director, Maiko Yamamoto, and her 12-year-old son's obsession with Minecraft; MINE opens us up to expansive and strange new territories.  MINE is built for adults and kids 10 years and up, and preferably, to watch together.

I would recommend Mine to gaming parents and children all over the world - Kaylan, Artsdepot

MINE is not an official Minecraft product, nor is it affiliated with Mojang.
